Flight Training
In addition to flying airshows, Andrew Boyd (Pitts #2) also
offers a wide range of flight training, based at
CYSH
which is just southwest of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Tailwheel Training
If you've just purchased (or built!) a tailwheel aircraft,
or if you're looking to improve your stick and rudder skills
with some tailwheel instruction, we can help you with that,
in either our
Maule M4-210C
(which we have been flying for 40 years, since 1971) or on
your homebuilt or certified tailwheel aircraft.
Aerobatic Training
If you are a new aerobatic aircraft owner - or if you want
to expand your personal flight envelope - we can teach you
all about about flying (and landing) a
Pitts!
All of our
three Pitts S-2B
are identically equipped with lightweight high performance
three-bladed propellors which allow for the full range of
Unlimited category and airshow maneuvers including
torque rolls,
tumbles,
and advanced spins.
Unusual attitudes
are the usual here! Andrew is also happy to give aerobatic
instruction on your certified or homebuilt aircraft.
Multi-engine Training
Andrew has given flight training in many different kinds of
multi-engine aircraft
including nosewheel, tailwheel, pressurized, and turbocharged,
supercharged, geared and radial engines. Here's an
article
Andrew wrote 15 years ago for AvWeb about flying multi-engine
aircraft.
Instrument Training
For many years, Andrew has given ground and flight training
in actual IMC towards both the Group 3 (single-engine) and
Group One (multi-engine) Instrument Ratings. If your instrument
training on your aircraft has been dragging on, contact Andrew
to get it finished off and get your IFR rating ASAP. Here's
another
article
Andrew wrote for AvWeb years ago, about IFR flight training.
Innstructor Training
Andrew has taught and recommended candidates for both the Flight
Instructor rating, and the Aerobatic Flight Instructor rating.
If you're having trouble finding a Class One Instructor to finish
off your Instructor rating, contact Andrew!
Homebuilts
Andrew has done initial test flights and given dual training
on many different types of homebuilts - nosewheel, tailwheel,
high wing, low wing, biplane, metal, composite, tube & fabric,
auto engine, etc.
RV's
seem particularly popular lately. Andrew has also removed
the intial "no-aerobatic" restriction on many Canadian homebuilt
aircraft with a test aerobatic flight.
Warbirds
Andrew has flown and instructs on many different types of
Warbirds
including the
PT-19/26 Cornell, the PT-22 Ryan,
the PT-17 Stearman, the Harvard/T-6/SNJ, the venerable Beech 18, the T-34,
